Description:
Incorporated in 1908, the Town of Firestone is strategically located between Denver and Ft. Collins and east of the intersection of I-25 and State Highway 119. Firestone was founded as a coal mining settlement in the unique area where the Rocky Mountain front range meets Colorado's eastern plain. This location provides dramatic views of the Rocky Mountains and the vast agriculture areas in this portion of southwest Weld County. Numerous streams, canals and lakes enhance this segment of the St. Vrain River valley ecosystem. Firestone incorporates a large part of the Front Range Legacy Trail system throughout the town with over 14 miles of scenic vistas along a paved trail corridor.
